    1st DUI - Passing drug/alcohol tests
I recently received my 1st DUI in a small town in the state of GA. Along with all the standard DUI punishments (MADD classes, Driving courses, fines etc) I'm on probation for one year. My first meeting with my probation officer is tomorrow. I DO NOT do any drugs, (except for a tylenol on the rare occasion) I am more concerned about alcohol. I haven't had a drink since before I was sentenced, so I should be in the clear. My probation officer said that I MAY have to give a urine, blood, or hair sample. Here's my predicament... I don't have a problem giving up booze for a year, however I'm getting married in August, and would like to have a drink at my OWN WEDDING/HONEYMOON!!

I'm nervous about drinking at all because I don't know what they test for in blood or hair. I know that as long as I don't drink at least 48hrs before my test, it won't show up in urine. But could it show up in blood? Hair? I'm just looking for some help. Thanks!

I hopeyou have learned your lesson, drinking while intoxicated will get you time, loss of car and license in Ontario. So I hope they ae as strict where you live. It doesn't matter how much you drink, it what shows up. In fact, starting on this Friday, a new ruling in Ontario brings ANYONE IN ONTARIO into an OPP station if even suspected of DUI. They say no matter how much you have had, even one glass of wine impairs a normal person. I know this doesn't mean anything to you. It is another country. Unless you live in Canada. You don't say where you live, but I hope their rules are strict for DUI as well.

So... you say your first DUI, I hope you don't plan on having any more !

And you are getting married. They test for any kind of abuse in blood and hair, alcohol, drugs, whatever.

Don't do ANYTHING and you won't have to worry.
