    Primary Doctor's Referral
I notice a problem with getting a referral from your doctor to see a specialist. The primary doctor will have a date restriction say two weeks. But the specialist earliest appointment may be three weeks or longer. Making the referral expire.

I had to get referrals from my primary, and they made it effective for 6 months. Talk to the person at your doctor who handles referrals and tell them you need more time. Or make the appt first and then tell your primary when it is.
