Creatures which are half beast and half human
I have an idea for a term which would or, should I say, could describe such a creature which you have been discussing: half beast and half human. Since DIMORPHIC describes the TWO DIFFERENCES experienced in the same genus/species between the male and female, i.e. color differentiation, let's try the prefix BI. It has the power to express TWO as the dual traits which are within one final entity. Even though BIWEEKLY can mean every two weeks, it can also mean TWICE WITHIN ONE WEEK. With that premise in mind, could we create the word BIMORPHIC: two different forms within one being? Therefore we could create TRIMORPHIC to describe the griffin since it's composed of three different body parts or forms. I submit this for your thoughts. Thank you

Why not just use the existing term Halfling ?
