Kenmore Elite Dryer Runs, no heat.
I have a Kenmore Elite Dryer I bought in 2006. It tumbles, but there is no heat. Is this something I might be able to fix myself?

If it is a gas dryer the ignitor probably went bad and if electric it could be the heat element. It depends upon your mechanical skills and tools to know if you can fix it yourself.

You never posted a Exact model number so on your unknown model I have no idea where it is located except to say it is in the dryer. The difficulty of the repair will be based on your mechanical skill and tools available to you. Post Exact model for more Exact info.

Without being there to test your dryer the most likely part for your problem is part number 4 on this diagram. It is called the ignitor. Its part number is 279311 and costs about 30.00. It can be replaced by going through the front of the dryer at the bottom lower door access as seen in the next diagram. NOTE this part is sensitive to oils that are on your finger tips. Do not touch the black or dark grey part with your hands at any time.
