I went to the salon today and asked to have my hair freshened to a med.brown because it had faded to an ashy brown. I recently went to brown after being a platinum blonde. I asked for the same med. brown she gave me last month with some caramel highlights. I left with DARK brown hair and blonde stripes!! I know that the color will fade, but those blonde highlights are definately not going to budge. What can I do to make the brown fade as quickly as possible? I feel so stupid for even going back to brown! The blonde was pretty. I was just tired of the upkeep.

Not so. The blonde will fade along with the brown. To speed up fading, use a clarifying shampoo.
