About 3 weeks ago I was Care Flighted due to serious head trauma. I had a V-shaped laceration in which 8 staples were put in. I was very thankful that I recovered quickly and now back to normal with the exception of some missing hair around the impact area. Here are some pictures.

I've never had hair loss. I'm 25 years old and a little concerned.

What is the reason for this and is there anything I can do?

Thanks!

Hair loss after head trauma is not surprising to me, and the condition caused by this is called alopecia, which can be serious, can be not be serious. I suggest you see a dermatologist (no not a hair loss treatment centre). You probably have nothing to worry about, but if you want to be sure, get a referral from your doctor. I have heard that an ointment calleed Protopic, used for excema (not saying that is what you have) helps, but as I dont believe in half measures and fooling around with pills and ointments. Just go and see, okay.
