Can anyone help? I am looking for an exercise routine that I can do in an hour at my local Shapes Gym. I am 50 years old and 30 pounds over weight. I am trying to build up cardo, tone up and lose some weight too. I want to do a 5 k run at my daughter's school this spring without having to call an ambulance.
I have been trying to build up to a 20 minute jogging on the treadmill, (5 minutes running, 2 minutes walking). I then go 15 minutes on the bike at an easy pace. I then do some stomach crunches and chest weight stuff with about 30 lbs. on the machine. I try to get to the gym 2 - 3 times a week. The elliptical machines are out as I have bad knees and after 10 minutes on these machines my knees are done.
So if anyone could suggest a fitness routine that could help, it would be very much appreciated.
