Help! Me and my friend are sitting here with an iPod touch 2gen that hasn't been jailbroken or anything of the sort to make it freeze or anything, first off.

The iPod Touch was working fine, and all of a sudden it started to heat up very, very hot. Now, the screen is stuck(frozen) as a white screen and now we can't fix it. We've tried all of the Apple troubleshoot ideas. My friend can still return it, but he would rather just keep it. What should we do?
