frangipanis

Beginning to think about Christmas lunch and need to be prepared to feed up to 10 people, including seven adults and three young teenagers... my partner and I and all our children, plus some of their partners and possibly other friends who might drop by.
I'd like to do something a bit different. It's summer here, and I thought us girls could wear sarongs along with frangipanis and a lei, while the boys could wear Hawaiian shirts.
I have a few largish white sea shells plus around six half hollowed out coconut shells... and a largish wooden bowl carved in the shape of a shell with oyster shell inlay.
Any ideas on what sort of food could be put in some of those bowls and what else could be served? Here are few to start with:
* Pacific Islanders eat a lot of pork... so roast pork or leg of ham would be fine as the main dish.
* I was made a curry once that was cooked in the oven inside a coconut shell where the top of the coconut was used as a lid. It was fantastic.
* my daughter made lemon and lime sorbet for the first time the other day and it's actually very good.
* I'll definitely do a fruit platter
* dips (what sort?)
All other ideas would be welcome :)
