I used Wella Very Dark Brown on my hair about 4 months ago. Around the end of December when I decided to buy some L'Oreal ColorZap I had a couple of inches of roots. I used the ColorZap as directed except for the fact that I could hardly tell the difference between my virgin roots and the dye so I just covered all of my hair. My roots ended up being a very brassy platinum and the rest was a crazy firy red. I actually kind of liked this so I left it for a week or so, haha.
Stupidly following the advice of the lady that worked at the Thrift Beauty Supply, I put a L'Oreal honey blonde-colored dye on it. Obviously, that didn't work. It calmed the color down, even it out a little. Still a red-head with blonde roots though!
Anyway, what I want to do is dye my hair the lightest shade of brown (or dark blonde) that I can get it without putting any bleach on it. And I would very much like the color to be consistent throughout my hair from roots to ends. I purchased Colorful Protein Filler in Warm Brown along with Wella Medium Ash Blond hair dye, which is surprisingly dark for the name (in my opinion anyway). I've also been using a Porosity Control Shampoo and Conditioner and a Porosity Equalizing spray in hopes that they will help the color to come out even.
Can anyone tell me if I'm on the right track? I'm actually slightly terrified that this Medium Ash Blond will end up being green, but I really want to get rid of the red.
Thanks, and sorry this was a short novel :)
