Is it normal if one really has only one OS installed, and that OS is windows 2000, with service pack 3, for WINNT to be installed on the computer??!!! When I try to look at the properties of WINNT, the amount of space it supposedly occupies keeps shifting, constantly. However, there are huge numbers of subfiles on my system under WINNT.

I would also appreciate information relating to remote administrators, and local security settings being overridden by settings which cannot actually be changed.

Um....... are you talking about the C:\WINNT directory? Since windows 2000 is a descendent of NT, then you have C:\WINNT instead of C:\WINDOWS (or at least I think so, it's been a long time).

Since that is your windows directory, lots of stuff is constantly being shifted around. Probably your swapfile is in there too....
