I advise you strongly not to get a tan and definitely not to use a tanning bed. I'm over 50 now (yes, ancient), and friends my age who used to tan a lot or be out in the sun a lot are beginning to find out they have skin cancer. Yes, I know -- it won't happen to you, you think, or that's years away from now. Well, time goes by awfully fast, and I'd hate to think I didn't warn you now while you are young and can do something about preventing it from happening. Doctors are finding more and more young people with skin cancer, mostly because of the tanning beds. Some states now have laws--no tanning bed use by anyone under 18. Also, my ex-sil used to tan until she was a gorgeous toast color. She looks like a wrinkled-up prune now with tons of dry, flaky skin.

    Be careful!

Alotta people say we look alike,
But, I know I am not as pretty as her. But if I had tan skin. I would have a lot more friends.

I would also like to add that years of tanning, while you may not think so now, will turn your skin to leather. You will no longer have smooth supple skin, but skin that looks tough with wrinkles.

No, that's not how you get friends, by how beautiful you are or think you are.

Tan skin has nothing to do with friendship. You can be a beautiful girl on the outside but as mean as a snake on the inside.

Friendship is all about personality, not skin color.

Doctors are finding out that is bad too.

Work on your personality, not your tan.

It won't be any different, you can get skin cancer and leathery skin by tanning outside as well.

Pearly white skin with freckles is beautiful to me. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Well, getting boys has nothing to do with your skin tone, but rather your personality.

I'll give you an example. I just spent the 4th of July with my SIL's family. They all have red hair, freckles and white skin... they are all married with children.

    I am very very shy.
I have never kissed a boy.
I don't think anyboy has liked me.
I thought so but the ones that I thought I had a chance with. Only wanted to use me for sex or head.
    But when I said hell.no!
    They stopped talking to me:/
And where I live. Its all about looks and popularity

So you really think the color of your skin will change your personality?

    No!
    So here's the story.
3summersago I became bestfriends with my best friend samantha. When we got to 2summers ago We did everything together we had the same friends.
Then me and her met this girl, NO ONE liked her. So we decided to be friends with her.
No girls liked her because Wore no makeupp. And was still prettier then them.and had biggjuggs! No boys liked her cause she hung out with guys.
Everyone said she was a druggie.
So once we hung out with her we got called druggies and no one talkedd
    To us.
So last summer it was the same way.
Then this summer samantha got super pretty and the popular people talked to her. They didn't care if she was hanging with a girl that they [thought] was a druggie.
T heynever talked to me. Now sam has so many friends all the guys like her. The girls want to be besties with her.
The reason I want to be tan is so people notice me and can actually see who I really am.
    But. I agree with you.
I shouldn't be caring what other people think of me.
If the don't like.me then they can off!(:

And you're also going to have to clean up your language too. If the prettiest girl in the world has a mouth like that, no one will like her.
