    What kind of chair is this and is it as old as I was told it is?
    Trying to find out what kind of chair this is, was given to me around 1995 and I was told that the chair originally belonged to this lady's (approx 55yrs old) great-grandfather. It has been reupholstered but is in good shape.

    I would probably have to guess, if that is what you want, but you don't include a picture of the chair.
